Seller Rules

NOTS Market is a place to discover and share vintage, antique, collectible and second-hand items. These Seller Rules help keep the marketplace honest, welcoming and safe.

By listing an item on NOTS, you agree to follow these rules, as well as our Terms of Use.

1. Who can sell?

• You must be at least 18 years old to create a seller account.
• You must provide accurate account and listing information.
• You must own the item or have permission to sell it.
• You must comply with all laws that apply to your sale.

2. What can you list?

NOTS is intended for genuine vintage, antique, collectible, second-hand and related items, such as:

• Antiques and vintage homeware.
• Vintage clothing and jewellery.
• Collectibles and memorabilia.
• Tools, salvage and restoration items.
• Other lawful pre-owned goods suitable for the marketplace.

3. Prohibited listings

You must not list:

• Stolen goods or items you have no right to sell.
• Counterfeit goods or fake branded products.
• Illegal drugs or controlled substances.
• Firearms, ammunition or prohibited weapons.
• Explosives or dangerous materials.
• Items that are illegal to sell or possess.
• Items that infringe another person's intellectual property.
• Fraudulent, deceptive or misleading listings.
• Unsafe or recalled items where their sale is prohibited.
• Any other item prohibited by applicable law.

4. Make your listing accurate

Every listing must include honest and clear information:

• Use a clear, accurate title.
• Set a genuine asking price.
• Select the most appropriate category.
• Describe the item's condition honestly.
• Disclose damage, defects, repairs or missing parts.
• Do not make unsupported claims about age, origin, authenticity or value.
• Update or remove the listing when the item is no longer available.

5. Use genuine photographs

• Use photographs of the actual item being offered.
• Make sure photos are clear and reasonably well lit.
• Show important details, wear and any damage.
• Do not use images you do not have permission to use.
• Avoid including faces, addresses or other private information in listing photographs.

6. Be clear about condition

Vintage and antique items may show signs of age and use. Describe their condition fairly and avoid making an item sound better than it is.

If an item is sold for parts, restoration or repair, state this clearly in the listing and explain any known issues.

7. Communicate respectfully

• Respond to buyer enquiries honestly and politely.
• Do not harass, threaten or discriminate against users.
• Do not send spam or misleading messages.
• Do not impersonate another person or business.
• Do not pressure buyers into unsafe or suspicious arrangements.

8. Payment, collection and delivery

Sellers should clearly communicate any delivery costs and collection arrangements before agreeing to a sale.

Use sensible precautions when arranging in-person collections or accepting payments.

9. Private and business sellers

If you sell as a business or trader, you are responsible for meeting the legal obligations that apply to your business, including relevant consumer protection, product safety and tax requirements.

Do not describe yourself as a private seller if you are actually acting as a business.

10. After an item sells

• Mark the listing as sold or remove it promptly.
• Honour the arrangements you have agreed with the buyer, subject to applicable law.
• Communicate promptly if circumstances change.

11. Reports and moderation

NOTS may review listings and take action when these rules are broken or when content appears unlawful, misleading or unsuitable for the marketplace.

Actions may include:

• Removing or hiding a listing.
• Requesting changes to a listing.
• Restricting account features.
• Suspending or closing an account.
